Seminar : Doctors WANTED from Community College Now he is enjoying his intern year at UT Southwestern and is developing his skills with the hope of pursuing trauma surgery. He graduated with a double major in NPB (Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior) and Psychology and then attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He started his educational journey at Diablo Valley College and transferred to the University of California, Davis, and had the opportunity to work in the UC Davis Pre-medical Surgical Internship program where he discovered his passion for surgery. While serving in the military, he realized his strong passion for science and working with the community and decided to pursue medicine. He took a longer path to medicine after a 6-year career in the United States Navy where he worked as a self-defense weapons technician. Joshua Abolarin, MD is a 1st year General Surgery resident at the University of Texas Southwestern. Abolarin whose journey started at California Community College, and continued to UCDavis – and now his journey has led him to the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
